The Miami Heat took an early advantage in the Eastern Conference Finals, defeating the Boston Celtics 117-106 in Game 1 on Sunday night. Despite Boston's 3-0 record against Miami in the regular season, the Heat came out strong and dominated the game from start to finish.

Jimmy Butler led the way for Miami with 29 points, followed by Bam Adebayo with 21 points and Kyle Lowery with 20 points. Jayson Tatum paced the Celtics with 29 points, but struggled from the field, shooting just 10-of-25. Jaylen Brown added 24 points but made only 9-of-23 shots.

The Celtics struggled to find their rhythm offensively, shooting just 39.7% from the field and 27.3% from three-point range. Miami, on the other hand, shot 48.8% from the field and 38.2% from three-point range. The Heat also outrebounded the Celtics 50-37 and forced 16 turnovers.

The Celtics will look to tie the series when they host Game 2 on Tuesday night at TD Garden. Miami will try to take a 2-0 lead and put Boston on the ropes.
