Boston Celtics Roster

Boston Celtics 2023-24 Roster Preview

Key Additions and Departures

The Boston Celtics made a few key additions and departures during the offseason. They signed free agent forward Danilo Gallinari, who is expected to provide some much-needed shooting and scoring off the bench. They also acquired Malcolm Brogdon in a trade with the Indiana Pacers, who will give them another ball-handler and playmaker in the backcourt. On the departure side, the Celtics traded away Daniel Theis to the Indiana Pacers and Aaron Nesmith to the Indiana Pacers. They also lost free agent guard Dennis Schröder, who signed with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Projected Starting Lineup

The Celtics' projected starting lineup for the 2023-24 season is: * Point guard: Marcus Smart * Shooting guard: Malcolm Brogdon * Small forward: Jayson Tatum * Power forward: Al Horford * Center: Robert Williams III This lineup is very similar to the one that the Celtics used last season, when they finished with the second-best record in the Eastern Conference. Smart is a defensive stalwart and a good passer, while Brogdon is a versatile guard who can score and create for others. Tatum is one of the best young players in the league, and Horford and Williams III are both solid veterans who can contribute in a variety of ways.

Bench Rotation

The Celtics have a deep bench that should be able to provide them with some quality minutes. Gallinari is a veteran scorer who can provide a boost off the bench, and Brogdon can also play either guard position. Grant Williams is a versatile forward who can play both power forward and center, and Payton Pritchard is a good young point guard who can provide some scoring and playmaking. Overall, the Celtics have a talented and experienced roster that should be able to compete for a championship in the 2023-24 season. They have a good mix of young players and veterans, and they have a lot of depth in their lineup.
