Real Madrid Reach Champions League Final After Penalty Shootout Win Over Manchester City

Real Madrid have reached the final of the Champions League after a dramatic penalty shootout win over Manchester City.

The match finished 2-2 on aggregate after extra-time, with Karim Benzema's goal in the first half of extra-time cancelling out Riyad Mahrez's equaliser for City in the second half of normal time.

The shootout went to sudden death, with Rodrygo and Dani Carvajal scoring for Real Madrid and Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden missing for City. Thibaut Courtois then saved Joao Cancelo's penalty to give Real Madrid the win.

It is the first time that Real Madrid have reached the final of the Champions League since 2018, when they beat Liverpool 3-1 in Kiev.

They will now face either Liverpool or Villarreal in the final in Paris on May 28.
