St. John's Port Authority Announces Cruise Ship Schedule
2023 Season to Bring Record Number of Vessels
Port Preparing for Increased Tourism and Economic Impact
The St. John's Port Authority is pleased to announce the following cruise ships have included St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, on their 2023 itineraries:
- Celebrity Summit (Celebrity Cruises)
- Nieuw Amsterdam (Holland America Line)
- Carnival Magic (Carnival Cruise Line)
- Norwegian Breakaway (Norwegian Cruise Line)
- Royal Caribbean's Navigator of the Seas (Royal Caribbean International)
The 2023 season will see a record number of cruise ship visits to St. John's, with over 150 scheduled arrivals and departures. This represents a significant increase from the 2022 season, which saw approximately 100 cruise ship visits.
The increased number of cruise ship visits is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy. Cruise ship passengers are known to spend money on a variety of goods and services, including food, souvenirs, and excursions. The Port Authority estimates that the 2023 season will generate over $100 million in economic activity for St. John's.
The St. John's Port Authority is working closely with local businesses and stakeholders to prepare for the increased number of cruise ship visitors. The Port Authority is also investing in infrastructure improvements, such as new docking facilities and passenger terminals, to ensure that St. John's can continue to accommodate the growing demand for cruise ship tourism.
