Hundreds gather to oppose rock crusher near Burnet

Burnet residents and environmentalists voice concerns at public hearing

Residents express concerns about noise, air quality, and water pollution

Hundreds of Burnet residents and environmentalists gathered at a public hearing on Tuesday to voice their opposition to a proposed rock crusher near the city. The hearing was held by the Burnet County Commissioners Court to consider a permit for the crusher, which would be located on CR 279, just east of Burnet.

Those opposed to the crusher cited concerns about noise, air quality, and water pollution. They also argued that the crusher would be a nuisance to nearby residents and businesses.

"This crusher would be a disaster for our community," said resident Susan Smith. "It would create noise, dust, and pollution that would make it impossible to live here."

Environmentalists also expressed concerns about the impact the crusher would have on the environment. They argued that the crusher would destroy wildlife habitat and pollute the air and water.

"This crusher would be a major environmental hazard," said environmentalist John Doe. "It would pollute the air and water, and destroy wildlife habitat."

The Burnet County Commissioners Court is expected to make a decision on the permit application at their next meeting.
